• ​Saturday, October 12, Post 5, 69 Brewster Street in Bridgeport is hosting a Meet & Greet for veterans and their families. It happens from 1:00-4:00 PM and is free. Representatives from the VA, Homes for the Brave, The Workplace and The American Legion among others will be there to explain any questions or problems you may have with benefits.
  • Saturday, October 26th, 2:30-4:30 PM Wilton will hold their annual Pumpkin Parade through the center. Post 86 will have a table and goodies for all the children walking.
  • Monday, October 28th, Post 86 will host a Flag etiquette class for Pack 101 Scouts at 6:30 PM.
  • Friday, November 8th, Post 86 will give a Flag etiquette class to a Brownie Troop at the Wilton Congregational Church at 3:30 PM.
  • Sunday, November 10th at 5:00 PM, Post 12 in Norwalk will host their annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner at the Post, 60 County Street, Norwalk.
  • Monday, November 11th is Veteran's Day, with a parade, ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial, then refreshments at the Post before we head out to the schools.
  • Friday, November 15th, the Danbury Hat Tricks hockey team is hosting Veterans Appreciation Night, with a percentage of the proceeds donated to the 3rd District of Connecticut.


The Veterans Day ceremony will be held at the Wilton Veterans Memorial, NO PARADE. Sgt.-at-Arms Sean McNeill will conduct the ceremony, with the winner of the Middlebrook School Essay contest reading their winning entry. The ceremony begins at 10:30 am in front of the Memorial, with veterans invited to Middlebrook school for one or both of their programs. The first begins with refreshments for veterans in the cafeteria at 11:15 am, the program follows at 11:45-12:45 pm. the second begins again with refreshments in the cafeteria at 12:30 pm with the program following at 1:00-2:00 pm.
